# OpenTelemetry

This guide goes over integrating Nimbus with the [OpenTelemetry](https://opentelemetry.io/) Collector.

## Steps

1. In your OTEL collector, add an [otlphttp exporter](https://github.com/open-telemetry/opentelemetry-collector/tree/main/exporter/otlphttpexporter) - replace `$API_KEY` with your Nimbus API key

```yaml
exporters:
  otlphttp/nimbus:
    endpoint: https://$API_KEY-otlp-intake.logs.us1.nimbus.dev:443
```

2. Add the `otlphttp` exporter to any existing pipeline that processes logs

```yaml
service:
  pipelines:
    ...
    $YOUR_PIPELINE:
      ...
      exporters: [..., otlphttp/nimbus]
```

3. Reload existing collectors with the new configuration.
4. That's it - you're done. Nimbus is now optimizing your logs!
